Until the US prosecute the people responsible for the inhumane behavior in which prisoners were treated, the US will never be able to lead and be taken seriously with such issues as prevention of torture...etc. We have got to indicate how serious we are about upholding the international laws and the whole principle of the Geneva Convention. Prosecuting the top officials responsible for the violations would send a strong message that we are serious about such crimes.

Trust me, we will never be taken seriously by any country because of the crimes the United States of America committed.

2. Who are we (The Great United States of America) to dictate to anyone the violation of international laws and who are we to condemn anyone based on humiliation carried out to others? After the tortures and abuses of prisoners, the US doesn't have the right anymore to dictate to people when it concerns such things.

I can just imagine how the international community must be laughing at us when they read those statements.

Warning stickers are being placed on 30 Calgary pay phones in hopes of putting off criminals. (John Spittal/CBC)

Warning stickers are being placed on some pay phones in Calgary in a bid to keep drug dealers from using them for criminal activities.

The stickers will be put on 30 pay phones as part of a pilot project.

"Our public telephones have been an ongoing issue in our communities and were being used by drug dealers to communicate anonymously," Ald. John Mar said in a statement.

The program was launched Wednesday afternoon.

The stickers say: "Warning. In support of investigations into illegal activities, all numbers dialled from this phone along with the date and time of the call will be provided to the Calgary Police Service and other agencies as requested by subpoena. Keep Calgary clean and safe."

Furthermore, pay phone users will be able to dial only 911 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The pay phones selected for the pilot are in Calgary's city centre, described as downtown, East Village, Stampede Park, East Victoria Crossing, Victoria Crossing Centre, Connaught Centre, West Connaught, West End, Eau Claire and Chinatown.

The pilot program is based on a similar one in California where the stickers carry a similar warning.

I have NO respect whatsoever for Jenny Sanford. I respected her when she did not stand by her husband's side while he announced that he's been unfaithful. However, for her to say she's going to try to repair her marriage, after her husband told the world that he's no longer in love with his wife, that he's in love with his mistress and that his mistress is his sole mate, I can not fathom why she'd want to stay with him.

Her decision to stick with him made me laugh at her and lose all respect.

I have always stated that children should be off the table (celebrity & politicians) - including Sarah Palin's children (regardless of the fact that she uses her kids mercilessly to promote her political ambitions - far more than any politician I can recall).

Needless to say, the comments made at FreeRepublic.com were nauseating and just down right mean. It makes no sense for those commenter to say liberals make fun of Sarah Palin's children, hence their reason for having been so raucous when talking about the 11 year old Malia Obama.

MSNBC interviewed a representative of FreeRepublic and he stated that FreeRepublic does not need to apologize for the comments by its users and the views expressed are not those of FreeRepublic. He went as far as to mention that Sarah Palin's children are often attacked. Go figure!

I often visits liberal and conservative blogs and the conservative blogs are by far more mean spirited than what you find at the liberal blogs I've visited. I have never seen such mean spirited comments as were directed at Malia, directed at John McCain's or Sarah Palin's children. I did not find Dave Letterman comments about Bristol Palin (yes, I said Bristol, because he was referring to Bristol and not Willow) amusing.

Sad to say, this will not be the end of attacks on politician children.

I am happy this troubled young woman, Sahel Kazemi did not take her frustration out on the 'other' women, like so many women tend to do. It's sad that Mr. McNair's children are left without a dad and that they had to lose their father in such a horrific situation.

However, I feel no sympathy for Mr. McNair; not satisfied with his wife, he got involved with Sahel, obviously filled her head with lies about how he felt about her and was chasing other women. This should be a lesson to men and women; you don't play with people's emotions. Sahel may have already been a troubled girl and McNair pushed her over the edge. If you are going to sleep with a woman, be straight up and be honest about what your intentions are, don't go filling the woman's head with lies, pretending that you 'love' her or want to have an exclusive relationship, when you know all you are after is the occasional sex.

So many men show so many disrespect for women and disregards towards women’s emotions. They walk into your life and pretend as if you are all they need, only to walk when they have had you. On to the next skirt or whatever it may be.

I do not mean to sound as if I condone killing another because you’ve been hurt but when things like this occur, I have to admit the reality of why it happened.

Men, women, all you have to do is be honest about what you want. Let it be his/her decision to get involved based on your terms. Of course, you may find the mentally ill who may decide to accept the terms of the ‘relationship’ and then decide they want more and when not getting what they want, commit a crime. But, this is another discussion to have.

Since Michael died, today was the first I watched a program relating to his death. Didn't want to listen to the haters, didn't want to listen to people who wanted to give people the impression that they were 'friends' of Michael or that they 'knew' him.

I am happy I watched the service. I lost my mother almost 2 months ago, so, I have an idea of the pain the family is experiencing.

Michael lived a troubled life, a sad life but his kids brought some kind of happiness to his sad existence. This guy did so much good and the media have seemed to focus on nothing but the negative - about the lies that were leveled against this man.

MJ was a victim of his generosity and his naivety.

I wish only the best for his children and hope that Debbie Rowe will not get custody of them (sadly, with America as it is, I fear she will).

Hopefully in death, he there will be some peace for him.

This month we are investigating the physical love, the expression of our root energy. Many of us spend lifetimes looking for Love and all the attributes that come with it: Attraction, Intimacy, Passion, Ecstasy, Conscious loving, Lasting love, Comforting togetherness ....

Little do we know that the search for a soul mate can be enormously challenging. Very often our expectations and requirements are out of alignment with who we really are. Sometimes we even get a sense of frustration, dissatisfaction and disappointment while trying to find the right partner and our one true love. But yet we never cease to hope and wish for it! Most of the time we are more in love with the IDEA of "being in love" than being "truly in love."

What should we do?

The first approach is rather basic and very simple! We all go through it to experience the learning process of mastering love. At some point, choices are made to make it physical. It all begins with the body language that is leading to a sexual encounter.

Our society puts importance on physical intimacy as the greatest sharing one can experience. That is not necessarily true. In their search for love, people who repeatedly have numerous sex partners are usually left with a sense of hunger and a lack of inner fulfilment. But it is easy to confuse sex for love.

Throughout history, a sense of shame and guilt has somehow been implanted in our minds, whether we are aware of it or not. There are still places in the world where sexual doctrines dictate lethal punishment for expressions of sexuality. This doesn't make any sense since life begins with sex (listen to podcast interview about sex and spirituality). Without it, none of us would be here. We all know, however, that sexual energy is regarded as an important and powerful force within.

Our attitude and experience about it is influences our quality of life in both positive and negative ways. I have met people who have experienced sexual trauma and who suffer from it for the rest of their lives. It is, however, such a privilege to help them.

Often we encounter situations where sexual feelings are not reciprocated and we don't have the skills to handle such circumstances. Sex can be used to cause harm, as a means of controlling others or inflating the ego. It can also become an absorbing addiction that leads to a disconnection from the essence of all human relationships. Until we really understand who we are and learn to love ourselves, we continue to repeat the same pattern looking for approval and acceptance everywhere.

Are you still searching for love: -- in the right places? -- In the wrong ones?
Have you learned your lessons of love?
Do you feel comfortable enough with yourself so that you don't have to run looking for somebody else . over and over?

In the end, who are you?

Sacred or Diabolic

Today, Michael Jackson will be laid to rest. My wish that in death, he will find the peace he was unable to find in life.

He was a strange man, a boy living in a man's body. He seems to have had a troubled soul, but one thing I do not believe, and that is he was a child molester. Yes, he did questionable things (such as sleeping naked with children). However, I believe that he was such a naive man, he was clueless to how this would look to the general public or straight up, clueless that such behavior is just not normal.

He had so much money (through the years that he was most popular) and yet with all his wealth he remained unhappy. I assume that he had some amount of happiness after having the children and for that I am happy.

I can relate to living in a world where most of your life is spent feeling dismayed, you feel unwanted, you feel restless, you feel lost.

I was saddened when I heard of his death, however, my sadness was short lived, because, I thought, he's now gone and nobody will have to hurt him anymore. He's now gone, so, he doesn't have to live through the sadness he's lived his life in most of the years.

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

For months, I avoided watching the Trailers, because I wanted to see the film in its entirety. I would turn away whenever I was at the cinema and the preview was being shown.

On Saturday, July 4, I went and saw 'Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen' and the film (and my IMAX experience) was just AWESOME.

All the actors played their respective roles well, the sound was amazing and of course the special effects.

The jive talking twin Transformers were hilarious. Shea Labeouf did not disappoint and his parents were pretty good as well.

This may sound strange, but my favorite characters in the film are not the humans, but rather Optimus Prime (very sexy voice) and Bumble Bee.

I plan on seeing it again.

Thanks for the clip. I am not sure how Gov. Palin's attorney can sue Ms. Moore based on her saying there are 'rumors'. Miss Moore mentioned the word 'rumor' SEVERAL times.

I like that Gov. Palin is very ambitious, but she's way to sensitive. If, she's going to continue a life in politics, she needs to have crocodile/alligator skin. She can not take on every one who may say something that may not be true or something that may be true and she did not like the fact that it was said.

Hillary Clinton faced lots of criticisms throughout her political career and she did not stop to take on the people who were pulling her in the mud, she dealt with it how any savvy politician should, let it go and in so doing, you don't bring attention to the subject.

Gov. Palin was quick to state in an interview, that Then Sen. Clinton should not 'whine' about tough media coverage, that she should plow right on through, that Sen. Clinton does herself a dis-service when she 'complains' about "excessive criticism".

Gov. Palin should take her own advice.

Michael Jackson's Final Video: WATCH Rehearsal Footage

Based on what I have seen, Michael was always a thin person...go back and look at previous videos. He looked and sounded good during the rehearsal (I thought he was lip synching but I have read comments here that it was reported that he was not).

I never believed he molested those kids. What I believe, is that, he was so naive, such a child and gullible he did things normal adults would not, but no way did he molest anybody.

A part of me is sad that he died like he did, but I am happy he is no longer here to live through the pain the people in this world put him through.

So many of us would like to have what so many celebrities do; what I am talking about his the wealth they possess. We believe that with money comes happiness. Happiness, because then affording the things we lust, want and need would be no problem.

Michael Jackson for most of his life was a very wealthy man, however, his fortune and stardom wasn't able to give him one of the most important things one could desire in life - that's happiness. Michael lived a very sad and lonely life to his very end.

Michael is a perfect example of how flawed the concept of many is that if they were wealthy, then they'd live a very happy life. Yes, a wealthy person can live a happy life, just as a poor person can. But happiness is not found in the amount of money one have, but rather within you.

Albert Einstein once said that, “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things."

Dr. Murray made himself out to be a suspect in the public's eyes when in ran away and left his car. Most innocent people do not behave like that (especially in a situation like this one). Also, it was reported on MSNBC that he was giving Michael CPR on the bed when the best place to do it is on a very flat surface, somewhere quite sturdy. And, he did not want Michael to be pronounced dead at the home (even though he was in fact deceased). Also, he does not want to sign of on something that has to do with the death (not sure if it's the death certificate.

With that said, Michael's death is a loss to his family and many fans, but for someone who believes in 'fate/destiny', this was his time and this was how he was meant to go.

If this story is true, then they have got to be friggin kidding me. $2.9M is way too much money for her to keep. No way should they have given her money stolen from people who worked hard for it. My goodness, she and her husband robbed and as result killed people. She needs to suffer financially like so many have.

The day before her husband turned himself in, this women withdrew millions of dollars from their account. Now, is this not a woman who was in on what her husband was doing?

Growing up, I really didn't know anything much about Farrah Fawcett. However, I saw a picture of her in an old magazine and that's how I discovered Farrah. I was struck by her beauty and her look of grace. I liked her so much, I named my niece Farrah.

My aunt Agatha died in September 2008 from cancer (which had metastasized), by the name it was discovered she had cancer, there was little or nothing the doctors could have done. When I read how brave Farrah Fawcett was during her struggle with cancer, I am reminded of my aunt. They both handled themselves with so much grace and bravery.

It is a difficult experience losing a loved one and at such a young age. Farrah is going through a very painful experience and like my aunt when she was faced with unbearable pain; I have no doubt Farrah is hoping to go soon.

Farrah, you are a beautiful, talented, sexy and courageous woman and I wish you nothing but peace.

So, last night The First Lady took her daughters, Malia (11) and Sasha (8) to see Beyonce perform at the Verizon Center in Washington DC.

I, for one, would not have taken my kids (if I had any) to watch a live performance by Beyonce (one that does not involves a kids event), as I do not believe her shows are appropriate for children. Just as I had a problem with Fergie’s performance at the White House Easter Egg Roll (maybe if she had sang age appropriate songs it wouldn’t have been a problem – and no, I was not expecting her to go there and sing ‘The wheels on the bus’).

I do know that Mrs. Obama is a very good mom and is very protective of her children, but my opinion is that this is one event the kids should have sit out.

Top Republicans and Democrats across Alaska are quietly lining up to run for governor amid growing speculation that Sarah Palin will not seek reelection in 2010.

No candidate, including Palin, has yet filed papers with the Alaska Public Offices Commission. Palin’s office declined an opportunity to explain her thinking on the 2010 race, and the Republican Governors Association said it would not comment on discussions it has had with the governor.

But a number of Democrats and Republicans in Alaska and Washington who spoke to POLITICO believe her silence is a sign she will not pursue a second term as governor so that she can play a larger role on the national political stage.

Why Can't The Republicans Leave Other Countries Business?

So many republicans seem to believe Pres. Obama isn't saying enough on the Iran election/demonstrations. In 1953 the United States meddled in Iranian affairs; the US helped overthrew the democratically elected Iranian government. Before the coup, Britain had asked the Democratic president, Harry Truman for assistance and Pres. Truman refused. After President Truman's presidency, the Brits asked the new sitting President, President Eisenhower, a republican, and he agreed. Whatever the circumstances, like Iraq, oil was involved.

Their concern for the Iranian people is nothing but 'politics', as with some many things, the republicans are being quite disingenuous. They do not concern about the Iranians, they are concerned about scoring political points, to make the sitting President seem weak. They do not care about Neda, about the people dying in the streets. After all, they complained about the speech the President gave to the Muslim world when he was in Cairo.

They are talking about oppression when they are the ones who want to take away voters rights, women’s’ rights, the right to affordable healthcare…you can add any other rights I may have missed.

Sen. McCain and others, you need to deal with the SHIT facing us here in the US and leave the Iranians alone. Stop with your phony outrage!!!

We have Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan dealing with, not to mention 'Lil Kim' AKA Kim Jong-il from North Korea is throwing a fit and quite frankly need somebody to bitch slap him. Lets deal with the IMMEDIATE problems facing US.

Where is Gov. Sanford?

Gov. Mark Sanford was 'found'. As most of us now now, he was not hiking on the Appalachian Trail, instead, Gov. Sanford pitched his tent on the Argentinian 'trail'. And the saga ends like this, with a statement from Gov. Sanford:

"And so the bottom line is this, I -- I've been unfaithful to my wife. I developed a relationship with a -- which started out as a dear, dear friend from Argentina. It began very innocently, as I suspect many of these things do, in just a casual e-mail back and forth, in advice on one's life there and advice here."

A statement issued by his wife:

"When I found out about my husband's infidelity I worked immediately to first seek reconciliation through forgiveness, and then to work diligently to repair our marriage," she said in her statement. "We reached a point where I felt it was important to look my sons in the eyes and maintain my dignity, self-respect, and my basic sense of right and wrong. I therefore asked my husband to leave two weeks ago.

"During this short separation it was agreed that Mark would not contact us. I kept this separation quiet out of respect of his public office and reputation, and in hopes of keeping our children from just this type of public exposure. Because of this separation, I did not know where he was in the past week."

I guess Gov. Sanford made up his mind about where he wanted to go as it relates to his marriage. Where's that? To Family Court.

That's the last of the Sanford saga on this blog.

Ok, TPM is reporting that Gov. Sanford's office isn't confirming to the press that they actually know where he is:

"The office of the Lieutenant Governor, Andre Bauer, is now telling reporters that the governor's office says it's reached Sanford and that he's fine. (Bauer would take over the governor's duties in an emergency.)

But here's the thing: The governor's staff himself doesn't seem willing to confirm that directly to the press.

...In neither of these statements is Sanford's office saying that they've been in touch with him. Indeed, the clear implication is that they haven't been, or presumably they'd say they have.

In fact, it's unclear how closely the office even knows the guv's whereabouts. If it did, why the need to track his cellphone location? And if he told his office, why didn't he tell his wife."

This has now turned into a mystery.

UPDATED (6:26 PM):

The Daily Kos is reporting that Gov. Sanford's whereabouts is now known. As per The States,

"Sanford’s office told the lieutenant governor’s office Monday afternoon that Sanford has been reached and he is fine, said Frank Adams, head of Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer’s office on aging."

It is good to know that he's okay physically.

The Associated Press is reporting that Gov. Mark Sanford has been missing for days and nobody knows of his whereabouts (well, his family doesn't and his staff is not commenting).

As per the AP, "First lady Jenny Sanford told The Associated Press her husband has been gone for several days and she doesn't know where. She said she was not concerned. Jenny Sanford said the governor said he needed time away from their children to write something".

I do hope that Gov. Sanford is safe.

The new film from Sacha Baron Cohen is highly anticipated (well, at least by me). I saw his last flick and I was in stitches because it was so hilarious. I was also a fan of the series 'Ali G'.

I cannot recall another movie promoted so zealously as 'Bruno' has. Sacha has been all over Europe promoting his film. Quite frankly, I think the promotion is OVERKILL.

With that said, I wait with great anticipation the opening of 'Bruno'.

I do have mixed feelings about this. I, for one, really do not like the clothing. I want to see who's walking amongst me; I believe like a lot of people that it is a sign of debasement of women, that it signifies women as being inferior to men.

However, the question is what if there are women who would rather wear the Burqas to traditional clothing? Will they have no right to wear what they want?

I am sure the French will think this through carefully before they legalize any such ban on the Burqas.

I grew up in the church, spent the better part of my teenage years as an active member in the church, participating in almost everything (choir, being involved and a trio female group [me being lead singer], preaching sometimes on youth Sundays) but then I came to turns that I was living a lie, the christians in my church were nothing but hypocrites (including myself, as I was living a lie). I no longer believe in god and nobody can ever convince of the existence of a god.

I respect people and their religion as long as they respect my view and not try to impose their 'faith' on me.

Watching the videos below just goes to show how intolerant religions can be.
